Doggy Door

We are taking care of Tracy's dogs while she is up north. We don't have dogs, so Sophia is so excited to play with them. They ran outside to get some water and Sophia decided to follow them. It was so funny to see her little body go out the doggy door.

We got in the paper

Ok so we went to the Obama rally yesterday and we got into the Press Enterprise. Here is the link for the whole article but here is the exerpt that talks about us.

http://www.pe.com/politics/dearmond/stories/PE_News_Local_S_demparty29.167d654.html

Nancy Glenn, 55, her daughter and her 1-year-old granddaughter joined the crowd to show support for Obama's education policies and be a part of history.
Erin Glenn, 27, of Redlands, spent part of the evening chasing her young daughter around the park, but she was glad to be there.
Sophia Moran was dressed in a pink outfit with the words "It's my future. Please vote Obama" written on the front. She squealed as her mother and grandmother, both schoolteachers, talked about their desire to see Bush's No Child Left Behind Act undone.
"We want to make sure we're part of something, to show her she can be politically active," Erin Glenn said. "We were here when he made history."

Obama rally!!!

We went to an Obama rally tonight. It was in a park so Sophia was excited to get to run around all she wanted. Of course we had to dress her up in her Obama onsie. It was hot and Sophia's bedtime so we left before Obama's speech.

My favorite picture

After she figured out that the red things were sweet, Sophia was stuffing her face with them. It was so cute. We couldn't get any in the basket because she wanted to eat all of them. When we got home and I was washing the berries, some of them had little bites taken out of them. I wonder where those came from Sophia!!

Berry Picking

We went berry picking at Riley Farm on Saturday. It was fun because Sophia is so mobile now that she can get aound and explore on her own.

Looking down at mommy from the balcony
On the dock of the pond. There were some pretty big fish in there. She loved them.
Looking at the HUGE sunflowers.
Picking strawberries. Once she figured out that you can pick and eat the red things, she was out of control.

Going back to work

Boooo We started back to work on Tuesday :( At least this week we do not have students so that is nice. Sophia goes back the Martha's full time and she is so excited. She had been going about once a week so she would still be used to being at someone elses house for the day. Obviously this didn't phase her, she is such a happy baby and really goes with the flow. Only two more days until the weekend :)

Happy Birthday Sophia

This weekend we had Sophia's first birthday party. We had a great time. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us.

Sophia eating her smash cake. She was so dainty about the cake. She just picked off a bit of the icing and ate it. I was expecting her to really get into it.

Sophia's banner and her birthday princess dress

The three of us as we opened all of Sophia's gifts. She didn't want to have anything to do with that either. Usually she loves ripping paper apart, but not today. She was way more interested in all her new toys.

This is Sophia looking over her loot.

Thank you all again for making this such a special day for Sophia.

Great deals!!!

Ok, since we have all felt the pinch with rising gas prices, food prices, etc. I have been looking for a way to save some money. I have been reading online blogs about using coupons and sales to your advantage. I think today I outdid myself. $113.30 worth of groceries for $16.25. That is a savings of $95.05!!! Can you believe it.
Albertson's had a deal where you buy 4 selected items and they were $1.00 each!!! Great deal to begin with but then add coupons on top of that.
2 boxes of Cheerios
2 boxes of Cocoa Puffs
5 bags of Turtle Chex Mix
5 Yo+ Yogurt
9 bags of Cheerios Snack Mix
10 Boxes of Fruit Snacks
5 boxes of Nature Valley Granola Bars
2 Boxes of Curves Granola Bars
All for $16.25!!!!

Sophia is One year old!!!!

We had a great day for Sophia's first birthday. We went to MyGym this morning and they sang to her there. Then we went to my mom's kinder class and they sang the birthday song to her. She also got a birthday crown. We bought her a cupcake so she could blow out candles today. She LOVED it. She destroyed that thing and got it all over the place.

Purple Tutu

We had to try out Sophia's new purple tutu. She loves it. It looks so cute on her. Too bad I didn't find this tutu before I bought her birthday dress :( Oh well, we will have to find other occasions to wear it.

Park Jail

It was another park day. They didn't have baby swings at this park, so Sophia couldn't swing :( She did have fun running around.

We are getting ready for the party on Saturday. I can't believe that she is going to be one tomorrow :( It is so sad how fast this first year has gone.

OC Marketplace and Pumpkins

Today we went to the OC Marketplace and saw some performers and did some shopping. Sophia had a great time walking around and dancing to the bands. It was so HOT!!!!! but we were shopping so it was all worth it hehe :)

My mom was growing pumpkins with her kinder class so she brought one home and planted it in her yard for Sophia. This is her pumpkin. She loves her pumpkin and was giving it kisses. Do we leave it on the vine until we want to pick it? or how do we know it is ready? Can you tell I am a city girl.

The Couch Ate My Baby

Sophia decided to wedge herself into the couch and read her book. She was perfectly fine in there. She got herself out, so she was alright.

Yesterday we went to a playdate and Sophia decided that she was going to go in the pool no matter what. She was in a regular diaper and I was surprised that there was any water left in the pool. Her diaper was SOOO big. We were calling her J. Lo :)
(check out the little heartbreaker in the pool with three boys. I swear I didn't teach her that)

Take me out to the ballgame

We went to the Little League Western regional game this morning. It was great because Sophia could run around all she wanted. Of course she found tons of fans of her own and showed them all of her moves. What a ham. She danced and clapped and cheered. We met some nice people from Montana who were there to root on their kids. It was fun to get out of the house and get some free entertainment.
*** Right next door to the field is CCMS and they are on D track so they are in session. I saw all of the kids and realized that I have to go back to work in less than two weeks. BOOOOOO!!!

Sophia's New Ball

We were at Target yesterday and we passed the balls. Sophia said "ball" so we had to get her one. That thing is as big as she is.

This is when she spotted the camera. She loves to play with it, so I have to snap pictures fast.

Baby Sign Language

Here is Sophia doing the baby signs for more and all done. We are not really pushing the signing, but she feels so proud of herself when she can communicate what she wants. We will try to teach her more signs, but her language is progressing. She can say play, ball, dada, wawa, baba, fish, keys, and I swear she said Wal Mart when the commercial was on. All of these words and still no mama (really kid?) Thanks a lot.
