Water Wings

This was our trial run for water wings. Last time we were in the big pool at grandma's house, all Sophia wanted to do was swim on her own. She did not want to be held or be in her boat. So we went and bought some water wings. We tried them out today in our little pool. She got the hang of them right away. She was so proud of herself when she would float. She gave us the look like, " look what I can do." Now we are going to go and try them in the big pool.

Children's Museum

Today we went to the children's museum in Rancho Mirage. Grandma Kathy went with us and we had a great time. Sophia was so happy that everything was there for her. Small chairs, small sinks in the restroom, dress up clothes, etc. Her favorite part was the shopping in the grocery store and making a pizza for grandma Kathy. Sophia is really into hats and loved the huge selection of hats they had in the dress up attic. We will defiantly go back many times. We also want to try the Children's Museum in LA.

Princess Playdate

We went to a princess playdate and Sophia didn't get the concept of the crown :) We had a great time playing dress up and making princess wands. We then went outside and played on the jungle gym. Sophia had a great time climbing up and down the ladder.

No - K

Sophia's new catch phrase is say no k to everything. Do you mean no or ok? Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. She loves to find the moon in the morning and say hi to it before we leave for Martha's. She also now grabs your hand and says "walk" and drags you to where she wants you to go or to what she wants you to do for her. She gets the concept of gone and done and today said, "Oh no, done" when her song ended. I am astonished everyday the things she is learning. She recognizes and says many letters. We have A,B,C,D,E,H,I,K,M,N,O,P,S,T,U,Y. She has the sounds for H and S so she can spell her name.

Happy Easter

We went over to Grandma Nancy's house for a little Easter egg hunt. Sophia did well with finding the eggs and putting them in her basket. We then went to brunch with the family. There was a pond in front of the restaurant and Sophia was enthralled with the koi fish. She wanted to go and pet them :)

Sickness and Easter Eggs

Well, Sophia got sick Tuesday night and Chris stayed home with her on Wednesday. She was whiny and tired but wasn't tugging at her ears or complaining about her throat. she had a fever but seemed fine. We took her to the sitter the next day and Martha said that she was not right. We took her to the doctor and he said that her ear looked a little red and that he would put her on antibiotics. She seems a lot better today but she is already on her third nap so we know that our one nap a day girl is still not right.

We colored Easter Eggs today with grandma. Sophia had a great time throwing the eggs into the cup full of dye. She got it everywhere but she had a great time. It was good to hear her laugh again after her being so miserable with the sickness. Her hands were dyed green from the egg dye and she kept looking at them like she had never seen them before. She kept showing them to us like she didn't know what they were :)

Aquarium

We went to The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We had a great time. Sophia loved all of the different fish. She loved the ones you could touch but was a bit skittish when they brought out the but sting rays and the big shark. She only liked touching the things that did not move. Her favorite part was the Nemos. She kept telling us that they were Nemos and was very excited. We will defiantly go back soon :)

Aunt Ashley's Bridal Shower

Sophia came for a bit to Aunt Ashley's bridal shower. She loved hanging out with Myra and playing with all of the balloons. Sophia cried about something and Myra was so concerned and wanted to know what was going on with the baby. We are going to take Myra when Aaron and Ashley go on their honeymoon. I am glad that Sophia loves Myra and that Myra is so protective of Sophia.

Dinner Date

Sophia had a dinner date last night. Gavin came over and played. They are great little playmates. Stephanie ran some errands (so much easier and faster without a baby in tow). So we had some dinner while she was gone. I could not cut the fruit fast enough for these two little Hoovers :) Sophia was sharing her grapes and orange with Gavin if I was not fast enough in replenishing his supply. We had a great time and Sophia wants to have many dinner dates in the future :)

Disneyland

We had a great day at Disneyland. It was a beautiful day. We went on the submarine ride and Sophia was so excited to see Nemo. She loved it. We also went to talk to Crush at the interactive show. It was great, she was so excited that he was actually talking to the audience. She also ran up to Jasmine and hugged her and gave her high fives. We went on Pirates and she held her arms up when we went down the drop. We have a little daredevil on our hands. Chris is excited because he is going to take her to Magic Mountain as soon as she is tall enough to get on the rides.
